Halftime: BYU 55, CSU 40
The sellout crowd here at Moby Arena has been silenced by BYU’s red-hot shooting. The No. 9 Cougars knocked down 9 of their first 12 shots from the field to grab a 23-11 lead with just under 14 minutes remaining after three consecutive 3-pointers by Jimmer Fredette, Noah Hartsock and Kyle Collinsworth.
BYU, on pace to score 110 points, leads Colorado State at intermission, 55-40.
The Cougars are shooting a blistering 62.5 percent from the floor, and 57.1 percent (8-for-14) from 3-point territory.
Fredette has a team-high 21 points at the half while freshman Kyle Collinsworth already has hit a career-high with 13 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field. Jackson Emery has gone 3-for-4 from behind the arc and has 9 points.
Colorado State is led by Wes Eikmeier, who has 12 points, and Travis Franklin’s 10.
This game looks a lot like BYU’s other MWC road games so far. The Cougars are virtually unstoppable when their 3-pointers are going down.
