Cougars remain No. 23 in hoops poll

The BYU Cougars, despite the thrilling win over a tough Utah State team and a crushing victory over Chicago State, remain at No. 23 in the newest AP Top 25. The Cougars are, however, on the doorstep of the USA Today/ESPN coaches’ poll, now sitting one spot outside the Top 25. The San Diego Aztecs, with a road win at Gonzaga, made big progress in both boths – moving up to No. 18 in the AP poll and No. 22 in the coaches’ poll. Funny thing, though. The coaches still have Gonzaga ranked ahead of San Diego State. That kind of takes away from their credibility. How can a team beat another team, on the road, and still be ranked behind that team? Shouldn’t happen. Goes to show, coaches are too busy to really keep up on other teams across the country.
