Another BYU O-lineman injured

Even before spring practices began last Monday, BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall was concerned about the lack of depth on the offensive line. The Cougars started out with eight linemen who were healthy enough to participate.
On Monday afternoon, freshman Famika Anae suffered a possible ACL knee injury during 11-on-11 drills when he fell on top of another player who was already on the ground. Anae, a Timpview High product and the son of offensive coordinator Robert Anae, had already suffered ACL in both knees previously.
“It makes me sick,” Mendenhall said after practice. “I don’t think it’s avoidable. We already we had small offensive line numbers to start spring.”
The Cougars are now down to five healthy O-linemen because left tackle Matt Reynolds and center/guard Terence Brown were held out of practice due to shoulder injuries.
