Potential BYU blizzard in OKC

It’s snowing sideways here Saturday in Oklahoma City. I’m not looking forward to the four-block walk to Ford Arena from my hotel. I’m also not sure my flight home tomorrow will depart on schedule. The fun part will be getting to watch the Northern Iowa/Kansas game prior to going to work on the BYU/Kansas State game. As you can imagine, the arena is going to be loaded with basketball fans from the state of Kansas. All around town it’s been blue and purple. By the way, if you’re ever in OKC, I strongly recommend eating at Mickey Mantle’s. Best ribeye I’ve ever chewed on. Some cool Mantle memorabilia also.
The sentiment I’m feeling from fans and media here is that BYU’s chances of winning today are slim. Myself, I compare today’s game to BYU needing to win in an arena like the Pit against New Mexico or the Thomas & Mack against UNLV. In other words, the Cougars must play one of their best games. They have to shoot well, they can’t fall behind early and they’ll need to play outstanding transition defense and rebound. The biggest challenge will be defending K-State’s two explosive guards, Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente. Here’s a good story on found from CBS Sports columnist on today’s game, and the challenge BYU has. Click on the link below:
