Haws returns to practice

Freshman guard Tyler Haws, who suffered a fracture to his left orbital bone last week against TCU, practiced with the Cougars on Monday and is expected to play on Thursday when BYU takes on Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Oklahoma City. Haws, who did not play in BYU’s loss last Friday to UNLV because his left eye was swollen shut, said after Monday’s practice that even though his eye is still swollen, that he can see and has no vision problems. He said he shot the ball well in practice and, other than how the eye looks, he is not hampered by the injury. Coach Dave Rose, however, would not say whether Haws will start Thursday or how big of a role his stellar mid-range shooter will play.
