BYU freshman star visits eye doctor

Cougar freshman guard Tyler Haws, who was slapped in the face Thursday night by TCU’s Zvonko Buljan in the second half of BYU’s 95-85 win over the Horned Frogs, missed Friday’s morning shoot-around and was being examined by an eye specialist in Las Vegas. Haws, after getting scratched and poked in his left eye by Buljan’s wayward hand, left the game after his quickly began to swell. The eye was almost totally shut following Thursday’s game. Prior to the injury, Haws had scored eight points and had extended his free-throw streak to 38 straight by hitting 6-of-6 from the line, one short of the record set by teammate Jimmer Fredette earlier this season.
If Haws cannot go today, look for Charles Abouo and Michael Loyd Jr. to get those minutes. Also, this might be the game where Lamont Morgan Jr. makes his return to the court.
