Appendectomy for Davies

Freshman center Brandon Davies, a product of Provo High, was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday for an appendectomy. The 6-foot-9 front-line backup to starter Chris Miles missed practice on Monday after falling ill during classes.

He dressed for Tuesday’s game against TCU, but played only three minutes. For the season he’s averaging 4.9 ppg and 3.7 rebounds per game. It’s uncertain how long Davies will be out of action with the surgery and recovery.

Cougar coach Dave Rose will provide an update on Davies’s health Thursday after practice.
