Collie's big day

Former BYU receiver Austin Collie had the most productive game of his young NFL career Sunday as the Colts defeated the Jets 30-17 to clinch a spot in the Super Bowl, which will be played on February 7.

Collie caught five passes for 105 yards in the first half alone and finished the game with seven receptions for a career-high 123 yards and one touchdown. He was responsible for all the yardage during the Colts touchdown drive just before halftime: he caught passes of 18 and 46 yards, then a touchdown reception of 16 yards to pull the Colts within four points at 17-13 going into the break.

Collie’s touchdown was his second in two career postseason games (he caught four passes for 52 yards and one touchdown last week against Baltimore).

With all-pro corner Darrelle Revis and the rest of the Jets defense focusing on stopping receiver Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark, Collie and Pierre Garcon, who caught 11 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown, picked up the slack. Five of Collie’s seven catches went for first downs, while another went for the touchdown.
