Practice report
BYU just finished up practice, the next-to-last one before leaving for Dallas on Friday.
Coach Bronco Mendenhall he likes the attitude and preparation of his team.
“Certainly they’re very eager and anxious to play,” he said. “At this point, just a few things to polish up. Mistakes are getting fewer and fewer. They’re more familiar with our opponent. Another day of practice (Thursday) similar to today and then a lot of mental work on Friday and they’ll have every opportunity to be ready.”
Mendenhall said all the players who have been questionable for the Oklahoma game are expected to play — including left tackle Matt Reynolds, running back Harvey Unga, and cornerbacks Robbie Buckner and Brian Logan.
“We’re getting our troops back,” Mendenhall said.
Tight end Dennis Pitta said he and his teammates are ready for the opener. “It’s been a long camp and a long off-season. We thought a lot about this game and we’re ready to go. All the physical part is over and it’s more of a mental game for us right now.”
