Left guard Speredon suffers season-ending injury

After Friday’s evening practice, coach Bronco Mendenhall announced that starting left guard Jason Speredon has suffered a torn rotator cuff. He’ll be sidelined for the entire 2009 season.

It’s definitely a blow to BYU’s offensive line, which must face Oklahoma in three weeks. Replacing Speredon is walk-on Marco Thorson, a redshirt freshman. On Thursday, Matt Reynolds underwent surgery for a broken hand, though he’s expected to be back in 2-3 weeks.

During the second session of practice, Max Hall completed 6 of 8 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown.
