Are Cougars interested in Northern Cal prep guard?

According to a report in the Times-Standard in Eureka, California, BYU basketball officials have been recruiting Eureka High’s Greg Allen, a 6-foot-2 point guard who averaged nearly 26 points per game last season. Apparently, Allen is gaining interest from several colleges after he passed his SAT test, which resolved some concerns about his academics. The report says, however, that Allen is leaning toward signing with Creighton University. Allen was also a star receiver on the Loggers football team this past season, with 51 receptions.
Originally Allen verbally committed to the Idaho Vandals, but changed his mind and has re-opened his recruiting options. He has a ranking of 72 by ESPN.com. He’s being called “a bit of sleeper” by Scout.com.
From what I’ve read, Allen sounds like a very potent scorer and a kid that is very athletic. I’m just not sure where he’d fit in next season. If he’s willing to be patient, maybe redshirt, and accept a reserve role for a year or two, he could fill a hole with the Cougars down the road.
