Jimmer on the national stage

As I was watching the shoot-arounds on Wednesday at the Waichovia Center I was kind of eavesdropping on a conversation going on behind me. A man who grew up in north state New York was telling someone about how he knew the family of Jimmer Fredette. He talked of Fredette’s father Al’s younger athletic days, and of an uncle that was well-known in body training. Later Wednesday I figured out who the man was. He was Tim Layden, a writer for SI.com. With his familiarity of the Fredette family, and with Jimmer in town and a lot of a family around, he figured it was a good time to do a feature story on the BYU sophomore who traveled across country to become a Cougar.
