Cougar coverage crew arrives in Philly

I’m here at the Waichovia Center, having arrived in Philly on a red-eye flight last night along with Dick Harmon and photographer Jeff Allred. Thanks goodness I didn’t rent a car and I’m depending on shuttles and taxis. I’d get lost on these narrow and one-way streets.
The calendar today includes press conferences with players from BYU and Texas A&M, both coaches and then each team gets 40 minutes on the court. I’ll do my best to keep you posted on what I see around here on BYU’s preparation. Also, during the game tomorrow morning I’ll be doing some live blogging, but the NCAA limits me to five blogs per half.
Check back and I’ll have more for you later. In the meantime, here are some quotes from practice this week that I couldn’t fit in a story anywhere:

Jackson Emery: “Your whole life you fill out brackets on who is going to win, and now you’re part of it . . .You know why it’s called March Madness by being there.”

Jimmer Fredette: “When you get into (the tournament) it doesn’t matter who you play because they’re all going to be good.”
On Texas A&M: “They’re going to push the ball a little bit more I think . . . It’s going to be a battle and it’s going to be a hard-fought close game.”
