Spring ball — Practice No. 2
Once again, BYU practiced indoors today. During 11-on-11 drills, Max Hall looked sharp, completing 8-of-8 passes for 71 yards and an eight-yard touchdown to Andrew George. George led all receivers with three catches for 32 yards.
Coach Bronco Mendenhall said the execution was much better than it was on Monday, noting that he hopes to maintain the enthusiasm among the players throughout spring drills.
On the injury front, McKay Jacobson was held out again due to a hamstring injury. Freshman linebacker Brandon Ogletree suffered a fractured finger and will be lost for the rest of spring.
Among those observing practice on Tuesday included legendary coach LaVell Edwards, who, fittingly enough, watched from a golf cart. It was just like old times. In fact, in some ways it’s hard to believe it’s been almost nine years since he announced his retirement.
The Cougars will take the day off tomorrow before resuming spring drills on Thursday.
