BYU's pre-game Georgetown College look

Cougar guard Jackson Emery, who sat out last week’s exhibition against Concordia, is likely going to get a lot of minutes tonight against Georgetown College because Jimmer Fredette, who played a lot of minutes last week and led the Cougars in scoring, is sitting out with a sore ankle. That obviously means that Emery will not redshirt this season, which gives the Cougars better depth at guard.
However, fellow sophomore Michael Loyd is again in street clothes and my bet is that Loyd is heading for a redshirt year. Tonight’s game will also be the last time coach Dave Rose can look at freshmen Michael Boswell, Charles Abouo and Noah Hartsock before making a decision on whether to redshirt any of those three. My prediction is that Boswell will sit out this season, while Abouo and Hartsock will be the guys spelling captains Jonathan Tavernarii and Lee Cummard this season.
