Voting for Max
The 2008 elections are over, but BYU fans have a chance to vote for quarterback Max Hall for the Davey O’Brien Award. The following is information from BYU on how it works …
FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 4, 2008) ‘ On Saturday, Nov. 8, the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award will continue its ‘On-The-Road Tour’ by visiting the tailgate party at BYU ‘ home of O’Brien semifinalist Max Hall.
Over the next few weeks, The O’Brien will travel to the campuses of all 13 Davey O’Brien semifinalists. Tour venues this week include Missouri, Texas, USC and BYU.
Cougar fans are encouraged to stop by The O’Brien display in the tailgate party at LaVell Edwards Stadium and cast their vote for MAX HALL. The display will open two hours prior to kickoff and continue through the first quarter.
Finalists for The O’Brien will be announced on Nov. 24. FAN VOTING will count for five percent of the vote in determining the finalists and the winner. Cougar fans who are not able to cast a vote in person can support Hall for the 2008 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award by visiting VoteOBrien.org. Hall is currently in fifth place in the fan voting.
The winner of the 2008 Davey O’Brien Award will be announced during The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show airing Dec. 11, 2008, on ESPN.
BYU has a rich tradition of Davey O’Brien Award-winning quarterbacks. From the inaugural award winner in Jim McMahon, to the two-time winner in Ty Detmer, no school has captured more Davey O’Brien Awards than BYU.
