BYU vs. Oklahoma in '09?

Coach Bronco Mendenhall confirmed this morning on the Mountain West Conference teleconference that the Cougars are in talks with Oklahoma to play next season, possibly to be televised by ABC or ESPN. The game could be played in Dallas at the new home of the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cougars and Sooners have met only once — in the 1994 Copper Bowl. BYU won, 31-6.

BYU has one non-conference slot to fill for next season. The Cougars have been in negotiations with Tulane to play in New Orleans, but no deal has been reached yet.
