Toughest losses

I’m working on a story for later this week on the toughest losses the BYU football program has endured in its history. Not necessarily heartbreaking, last-second losses, but losses that had a similar effect as last Thursday’s defeat at TCU — a bubble-bursting setback with national implications that seriously affected the rankings and the bowl scenario.

I’ve compiled a list, but I’d like to hear from you. What losses over the years have hurt BYU the most? Which stick out in your mind? Where does the TCU loss rank among those?
