More on Max
Here’s more from quarterback Max Hall, which ended up on the cutting-room floor and didn’t make my story on him today.
Hall said that statistics aren’t always a good indicator of performance.
“You look at my statistics and you’d think I had a great game. In all honesty, I had a good game but there were a lot of things I could have done better. Sometimes statistics lie to you. Sometimes I’ll throw for 280 yards and have a fantastic game. The bottom line is, I need to do my part to get the job done and win the game. That’s all the coaches are looking for.”
One mistake Hall admitted was the fumbled snap exchange with center Dallas Reynolds at the UNI four-yard line. “It had nothing to do with Dallas. It had everything to do with me,” he said. “Two things happened. The last time we got down around the goal line, I got my foot stepped on so I was thinking about getting out quicker. Second, it was a play-action pass and I was excited. I just pulled out too quick. Being a second-year starter, it was one of those things I can’t do. It was a rookie mistake. I’ve got to stay in there and execute the play.”
