More from Tuesday's practice

Bronco Mendenhall called the session Tuesday the best of fall camp so far. He said it was the sharpest and most physical he’s seen out of this team and that the execution was the highest of all the practices to date. He added that he’s pleased with his players’ sense of urgency.

Offensive lineman Tom Sorensen will undergo a diagnostic, or exploratory, surgery on his shoulder next Tuesday to determine what’s wrong with it. Mendenhall is hopeful that Sorensen will be be able to return to the team soon.

Max Hall was 3-for-7 for 22 yards and one touchdown for the day. Fui Vakapuna scored a touchdown on an overtime drill. Safety David Tafuna played well, knocking down a couple of passes from tight end Dennis Pitta.

The Cougars will hold their last scrimmage tomorrow at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Most of the starters will be held out.
