Update on possible Tulane game in 2009

BYU sports information director Jeff Reynolds acknowledged this morning that BYU is talking to Tulane about playing next season.

“We have been in negotiations with several schools regarding our final non-conference game of 2009, including Tulane. We hope to have the schedule finalized in the next week or so,” Reynolds said.

The Cougars are scheduled to face Arizona State in Tempe on Sept. 12, 2009 and Florida State in Provo on Sept. 19 (according to nationalchamps.net). Should BYU and Tulane play, it likely will be on Sept. 5 as the season-opener. That would mean the Cougars would start the season with a pair of road games.
