ESPN.com writer projects BYU in BCS bowl

Proving it’s never too early to start projecting college football bowl parings, ESPN.com college football writer Mark Schlabach this week posted his early bowl projections for the ’08 season.
And Schlabach foresees BYU bound for its first-ever Bowl Championship Series invite, to meet Oklahoma in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl – the same bowl the University of Utah reached several seasons ago under Urban Meyer.
Schlabach projects Georgia battling Ohio State for the national championship in the pairing of Nos. 1 and 2, with his other BCS bowl match-ups being: Sugar – Auburn vs. Texas Tech; Orange – West Virginia vs. Clemson; and Rose – Southern California vs. Wisconsin.
As for the other Mountain West teams and MWC-affiliated bowls, Schlabach has penciled in the following: Las Vegas – Utah vs. Oregon; Poinsettia – Air Force vs. Arizona; Armed Forces – TCU vs. Southern Miss; and New Mexico – New Mexico vs. Fresno State.
“Penciled in” is the operative word, since fall camps are still more than a month away.
And your responses to Schlabach’s early projections for BYU and Utah?
